Volunteers needed for NALC Food Drive
April 17, 2013
Help letter carriers stamp out hunger! Volunteer to help with the National Association of Letter Carriers Food Drive, Saturday, May 11. It's the largest food drive in Oregon and in the nation, raising nearly 1.5 million pounds of food for the Oregon Food Bank statewide network each year. Volunteers are needed to collect food donations in their vehicles and to help package donations at post offices.

Oregon Food Bank's two Portland-area locations hosted 616 volunteers for a day of service in honor of Martin Luther King Jr. In a single day, volunteers repacked 123,000 pounds of food, the equivalent of 102,514 meals - more food than is typically processed at Oregon Food Bank in an entire work-week!
