    Volunteers needed for NALC Food Drive

    Help letter carriers stamp out hunger! Volunteer to help with the National Association of Letter Carriers Food Drive, Saturday, May 11. It's the largest food drive in Oregon and in the nation, raising nearly 1.5 million pounds of food for the Oregon Food Bank statewide network each year. Volunteers are needed to collect food donations in their vehicles and to help package donations at post offices. Learn more and sign up!

    This passionate commitment to hunger relief played a major role in her appointment as Oregon Food Bank’s new CEO, effective November 5, 2012, following the retirement of Rachel Bristol in June.

    diet-related diseases. Across the entire organization, we are taking a closer look at our ability to better serve clients by providing them with food that is wholesome, healthy and fresh.

    Oregon Food Bank's two Portland-area locations hosted 616 volunteers for a day of service in honor of Martin Luther King Jr. In a single day, volunteers repacked 123,000 pounds of food, the equivalent of 102,514 meals - more food than is typically processed at Oregon Food Bank in an entire work-week!

    Bank of America supports the fight against hunger on a national and local level, providing food, funds, time and relationships.

    During the holiday season, B of A partners with Feeding America to match donations made at ATMs. Last year, the effort added up to the equivalent of an additional 20,000 meals in Oregon and Clark County, Wash.

    Locally, Bank of America employees roll up their sleeves and get involved as volunteers, donating more than 700 hours to OFB last year. They also provide food and funds to help our mission through employee giving and food drives.
