Groups

Groups are the cornerstone of our volunteer program. Hundreds of businesses, faith-based groups, social clubs, service organizations, schools and youth groups come together to make a difference in the fight against hunger by volunteering at OFB.

Whether you're looking for a field trip for your students, a team-building opportunity for your co-workers or an active and meaningful way to celebrate a birthday or anniversary, we can accommodate your needs.

Working together, volunteers will handle more than 10-million pounds of food this year that will be distributed to hunger-relief agencies across the state. Thank you for your interest in bringing a group to help with this important work ... because no one should be hungry.

A few things to keep in mind:

  • Group shifts can fill quickly, especially during the holidays. Be sure to schedule your group in advance.
  • It's best to schedule your volunteer shift with us before recruiting volunteers to join your group. You can always adjust your reservation once you know for sure how many people will attend the shift.
  • If children will be a part of your group, please check the age restrictions for the opportunity you'd like to sign up for.
  • Once you sign up for a shift, please remember to fill out and return the volunteer group roster at least one week in advance.
  • Groups of five or fewer should visit our Individuals and Families section to learn more about volunteering
