The love of music transforms into over $1 million that will fight hunger in our area

The best lineup in 27 years, fantastic weather, dedicated sponsors, thousands of enthusiastic volunteers, and generous blues fans came together to make the 2014 Safeway Waterfront Blues Festival a spectacular success.

About 100,000 people attended the event July 3-6 at Tom McCall Waterfront Park in Portland. They came to dance, relax, and listen to music by Boz Scaggs, Otis Taylor, Los Lobos, Maceo Parker, Joan Osborne with the Holmes Brothers, Rae Gordon Band, Ural Thomas and the Pain, Hillstomp, Dumpstaphunk, and northwest native Curtis Salgado who stepped in at the last minute to wrap up the festival.

The Safeway Waterfront Blues Festival, presented by First Tech Federal Credit Union, raised $1,114,004 million through donations at the gate, special pass purchases, and river cruise tickets.

A special thank you to a few of our sponsors: Columbia Distributing, First Tech Federal Credit Union, Mutual of America, iQ Credit Union, KIA, FedEx, Schwindt & Co., Small Planet, The Boeing Company, Caring Ambassadors, Health Net, Clackamas County Tourism, GEICO, Highgrove Farms, KINK, Land o’ Frost, Mission Foods, Mississippi Music Trails, NW Natural, Regal Cinemas, Safeway, Umpqua Bank, and Winthrop Music Association.
