Tell Congress: We must protect and expand SNAP benefits!

One in 6 people in Oregon use SNAP to buy the foods they need to live.
SNAP (Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program also known as Food Stamps/EBT) is a key anti-hunger program in the U.S. that has a wide and deep impact on our communities. This year the Farm Bill (the federal bill which includes SNAP) will be introduced by Congress. While Congress is negotiating the Farm Bill, we can tell our lawmakers what improvements to SNAP and other food assistance programs our communities need!
We must protect and expand SNAP to ensure Oregonians have access to the food they need to thrive. We believe that:
- More people should qualify for SNAP benefits
- Everyone who needs SNAP should get SNAP
- When people receive SNAP, they should be able to afford the foods they want and need
- The process to access SNAP shouldn’t be dehumanizing
- There should be fair food assistance for the U.S. territories
- SNAP should support sovereignty for Native communities
Do you agree? Tell Congress to protect and expand SNAP in the Farm Bill!
